We at Simply Clearances understand we are in a key service sector which has an important and direct opportunity to influence the environment in the United Kingdom.

RECYCLING AND RESPONSIBLE DISPOSAL

Whilst undertaking our clearance business we aim to recycle the maximum possible amount, seeking alternative uses for items cleared whilst remaining within the legislation governing the re-use and re-sale of second hand items. To this end we will only use licensed waste management centres with recycling facilities. And waste will be delivered to the facilities best suited to deal with them, using local facilities wherever possible.

We believe that our responsibility goes beyond our direct business activities, and we aim to cooperate with clients, and our suppliers to develop our business in a sustainable manner. Every effort will be made to conserve resources throughout our operations. Our purchasing department will seek products and services of local origin and that have the minimum possible impact on the environment.

Furthermore, the company will not only meet existing environmental laws and regulations, but go beyond the status quo and seek techniques and approaches that position us ahead of our competition.

Growth of our company depends on our abilities to minimise or eliminate our impact on our surroundings. Our ultimate success depends on our ability to continue to clear houses with the minimum possible impact on the environment. HOW WE PUT OUR ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY INTO PRACTICE

• Items are taken to the facilities best placed to reuse them.
• All management have undertaken the Open University developed SEPA Waste Awareness Course.
• Only Licensed Waste Recycling Management Centres are used for the disposal of items.
• All vehicles used by Simply Clearances have been chosen with emissions and fuel consumption as primary factors, and are serviced regularly to ensure that they run as efficiently as possible.
• We adhere always to, and exceed wherever possible, the regulations governing the Waste Carriers Licensing.
• Road use and travelling are restricted to hours outwith the normal commuting times wherever possible, to ensure that we avoid contributing to congestion and road pollution, and drivers are instructed to take rest breaks rather than sit in traffic jams.
• All electrical items purchased for use within the business are “A” rated efficiency wherever possible.
• All old electrical items used by the company are disposed of with compliance to WEEE regulations.
